A Sad Farewell

GCD Studios was the first manufacturing design team that I was on. I still remember the phone call I received from Heidi Sonboul telling me that I made the team. I was so shocked and surprised that I was smiling for days afterwards! After 2 fun years, my term ended. It is very sad to not be on the team any longer but I look forward to being inspired by all the new ladies on the team this year!

I love the new collections this year from GCD Studios! My favorite one is the Splendor collection. The papers made me think of country kitchens so I just had to scrap about one of my favorite cupcakes!

I also had a little fun with one of the patterns in the papers and created my own little flower embellishment.

The weather has warmed up quite a bit over the last couple of weeks. We have been spending more and more time outside playing with chalk, running around, and, of course, blowing bubbles!

I happened to catch Jaina blowing bubbles while dressed in her pirate attire. These pictures just crack me up! I love how silly she can be at times. I used Webster's Pages for this layout. Love how versatile their papers are!

Happy Share

I have 2 layouts published in this Scrapbook Trends issue.

If you have a copy of the issue, look me up on page 31 and 101! This is the first time I have had two layouts published in the same issue! I am still doing the happy dance about it.

I have also been busy working on some fun new layouts that I can't wait to share with you all!

Spring Break!

After the craziness of last week, I am ready for a break myself. I am only working a couple of days this week. I decided to take a few days off so I can spend some extra time with the girls while they are on Spring Break. We are going to craft, play as much as we can outside and go on a couple of road trips!

I have a new page to share with you before I head out the door. I took these pictures during Jaina's birthday party. It was super hero themed. The girls had a blast being a super hero for the day. Oh who am I kidding? These girls are my little super heroes 7 days of the week!

I used the Palm Beach collection from Webster's Pages. I love how versatile this collection is! It may be beach themed but you can use it for so much more than that!

Seven years ago today, my beautiful baby girl was born. I still remember to this day the very first time I looked into her eyes and she looked right back at me. My heart melted right then and there.

Fast forward to now. Aryanna has grown leaps and bounds! I used to call her "short stuff" when she was younger because she was so short. Not anymore! She is just as tall if not taller than most of her classmates!

She can now read books and write stories. She helps around the house and makes her own bed. She amazes me with how well she is doing at school and how eager she is to learn as much as she can.

This year I let her pick out her own wrapping paper. Gone are the days of cute animals and whimsy characters. She picked out a pretty black and white damask paper. It made me realize that she is no longer a little girl but that she is turning into a little lady. Next thing I know she will be a teenager! So not ready for that! But for right now, I just want to hug my little 7 year old and pray that time will stand still for just a little while.

Happy Birthday Aryanna!

Trend Love - Hexagons

There are so many scrapbooking trends every year for scrapbooking. Some live on and some fade away. One trend this year that I have been seeing a lot on paper and projects are hexagons. At first I was not sure I'd like them or how I would use them on a page. So I challenged myself to give hexagons a try and guess what? I actually like them! I plan on using these guys on a few more layouts in the future!

To create my layout, I decided to put a spin on the classic bubble shape. I used hexagons instead and I think this layout turned out pretty cool. Check it out and let me know what you think!

I used the Sunday Picnic Collection from Webster's Pages to create this layout. Love this collection! The colors just make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!
