It's Almost All Hallow's Eve Time!

Our household is gearing up for Halloween. The girls have been counting down the days ever since they got their costumes. This year we have a bat girl and Clawdeen from Monster High. Rain has been forecast for Halloween and we are hoping that it stays away just long enough for us to have a little trick or treating fun.

If you have been wondering why I have been so quiet lately, I have been frantically studying for my information security certification exam next month. I documented about it on my newest layout for Fancy Pants Designs. Here is a little sneak of my layout. You can see it in it's entirety as well as receive a little insight into how I created it here.

Until next time!

Thanks for stopping by and make sure to leave a comment on each blog in order to get a chance to win the Family Traditions collection from Webster's Pages!

Next in line on the blog hop is the wonderful Tanya Batrak!

Planning Ahead

Every year I have the best intentions to make Christmas cards to send out to friends and family. In today's electronic age, I still enjoy sending and receiving Christmas cards via the postal mail. You just can't beat holding a card in your hand. Of course, every year time escapes me and I either send out store bought cards or none at all. Not this year. This year I shall send out homemade cards!

Speaking of which, I have two cards to show you today. These were created with the new Merry Little Christmas collection from Fancy Pants.

Now that I have two cards down, I have...oh...several dozen more to make. I will share them with you as I work on them. Until then....

Happy Friday the 13th!

Happy Friday the 13th everyone! Today is a day that most people freak out about superstitions. I, myself, actually love this day. It always has been a fun day for me where I would watch a scary movie in the evening. I especially love it when it falls in October. It really adds to the Halloween vib. This year it falls in September which is ok with me.

On to some scrappy stuffs...

With the fall weather brings the close of the hot summer temperatures. This year we were blessed to not have a crazy hot summer. It was just the right mix of hot. To document our summer, I created a fun layout with the mini file folders and cards from the Postcards from Paris II collection by Webster's Pages.

I have several more summer layouts I hope to create before the cold weather hits! Although I am not complaining. I enjoy the cooler temps. It's a great excuse to snuggle!

Everyday Routines

The alarm rings and the house fills with the sounds of a new day. The smell of pancakes and coffee fills the air. Kids run around getting dressed, brushing teeth, and grabbing their backpacks as we make our way out the door. School. Work. Dance class. Girl Scouts. Homework. Bath time. Bed. This is pretty much our daily routine with a little bit of fun mixed in for good measure.

I like to document our everyday. I love seeing how things change from month to month or year to year. Here is what our routine looked like in the beginning of this year. I used the fun Recorded collection by Allison Kreft for Webster's Pages.

How do you document your everyday? Do you do Project Life or layouts? I would love to hear!

Long Weekend Ahead

Today my girls and I have worked hard to clean up the house and get our chores done, well mostly, so that we can enjoy our 3 day weekend relaxing. I am looking forward to lots of scrapping time and a little baking as well. It's plum season which means it's time to make my grandmother's plum cake. Yummo!

Today I want to share one of my Fancy Pants Designs layouts. I played around with the monochrome look on this one. I have to admit, it feels like something is missing on this layout but I stuck to my guns and did not add any other colors. It is nice to change it up and experiment sometimes. How else are you going to discover if you like something new or not?

In a Blink of an Eye...

And just like that, the month of August is almost over and September is knocking at the door. I am so very thankful that we have had a mild summer here in Oklahoma. I am a little worried about what the winter months will bring. Hopefully it will be mild as well.

Today I would like to share a quick card that I made with the new Happy Go Lucky collection from Fancy Pants Designs. With fall just around the corner, I was in the mood to create a fall like card.

I wanted to add a little dimension to my card so I added some enamel dots to the center of the flowers and lined the shadows on the mason jars with a little bit of white pearl paint.

Happy Monday

Happy Monday everyone! Things are back to the normal school schedule. The girls enjoyed their first day of school and are looking forward to going back today. My oldest is actually looking forward to homework and whined when she did not receive any on Friday. I have a feeling she won't be as excited about homework in a few weeks, but then again, she might surprise me. She loves to learn.

If you know my kids, you would know what goofballs they are. This layout captures them in one of their silly moments.

I used the new Recorded collection by Allison Kreft for Webster's Pages. It's a fun collection to work with and who would not fall in love with that woodgrain paper! Swoon!

So Long Summer Days...

Hello everyone! This is a busy week in our household filled with school open houses, buying last minute school supplies, and then school starts on Friday!!! Both girls can't wait until school starts! This is Jaina's first year in school so you can only imagine how excited she is! She was a bit bummed out that she won't be in the same school as her big sister but she will be next year and that seemed to make her happy.

To be honest, I am looking forward to school starting as well. It will be a bit chaotic the first week or so while we get our schedules back in sink, but after that, it will be smooth sailing once again. Plus, I will get to hear their school stories. Those are always fun!

Speaking of fun, have you heard that Webster's Pages is having a week long giveaway? No? Well then make sure you stop by the blog all this week and enter to win come fun new goodies! Here is a layout created with the new It's Christmas collection.

I'm back!

I am baaaaack! I had a blast at CHA! I hung out at the Webster's Pages booth with Brandin and her sister, Shauna. It was great talking to them and meeting a couple of the other DT members who came to the show. I was also able to meet a few members from the Fancy Pants Designs team and check out all the new goodies at CHA. I will post pictures soon! Right now I am still getting caught up on housework and shopping for back to school stuffs.

Before I run out the door and head to work, I wanted to share one of my favorite layouts I made for the Fancy Pants Designs booth at CHA.

Here is a closeup shot of one of the new cut files from Fancy Pants Designs. The fabulous Kim Watson designed it. You can see all the new cut files in the Silhouette store.

CHA Bound

I am loving the new goodies I have seen so far from the summer CHA release! I have been working with some of the new releases from Webster's Pages and Fancy Pants Designs. I love what both companies have done this time around!

As I get ready to head over to CHA to see all these lovely goodies in person, I wanted to share a layout I recently made with a mixture of Fancy Pants Designs collections.

For this layout, I decided to play with some of the leftover background of the sticker letter sheet. I love how it adds a little bit of texture to the background.

Lately I have been trying to stretch my supplies and see how far I can take them. What is fun about the leftover sticker sheets is that they are also great for creating a misted background.

Happy 4th!

Happy 4th of July everyone! What fun things do you do on the 4th? We usually have a BBQ and sprinkler party. Nothing fancy. Just something easy going and fun! Luckily it is not supposed to be super hot today which will make being outdoors bearable.

This summer we are trying to spend as much time outside as possible and take as many mini roadtrips to the city as well. I want summer time to be more than just time off from school. I want it to be filled with lots of fun memories like on this layout.

I used the new Citrus Squeeze collection from Webster's Pages. I also added some dimensional pearl paint to add a little texture to the banner.

Time to start prepping the 4th of July goodies! Have a happy and fun Independence Day!

A Quick Mini

TGIF! It has been one long and exhausting week at work. I am looking forward 5pm and the weekend will finally be here!

Recently I decided to challenge myself and create a mini album from scratch. I started selecting these little mini folders from Webster's Pages Plum Seed and Citrus Squeeze collections.

I then glued the mini folders together.

Here is what the min album looks like after the sides are glued together.

Then it was time to go to town and add papers, embellishments, and pictures to the mini album. I used a picture my daughter drew to decorate the cover.

I had a blast putting this together! It was sooooo easy! I plan on making many more minis in the future to document things like birthdays and special events.

Cleaning and Organizing

I have been knee deep in paper lately. My poor scrappy supplies have been in some desperate need of organization. Although I am still far from being done, I am happy with my progress so far.

As I was sorting though my paper, I found a few Pebbles papers I bought and never had time to play with. So, of course, I had to stop and taking a break from sorting papers and create something instead.

To spice up the flowers a bit, I added a liquid pearl to the centers. I am currently addicted to this stuff! I have been adding it to almost all of my layouts I have created lately. It's so relaxing to sit there and dot away!

I just can't believe how big my girl is getting! She finally is letting me take pictures of her again. She went though this stage where she refused to let me take a picture of her. I am so happy that was sort lived!

One Crazy Week

It has been one crazy stressful week in my household. My youngest gave me a scare. She started getting blisters all over her body that were spreading like crazy and itching her. She was so miserable and if it wasn't for the chicken pox vaccine she received as a baby, I would have thought that is what she had. When I took her to the doctor, it turns out she came in contact with poision ivy somewhere and she had a bad reaction to it! Holey moley! After a steroid shot and some meds, she is finally on the mend and is no longer riddled with bumps. I was so relieved that it was nothing serious! It is so scary when your kids are sick. Makes my heart hurt. Ok. Now onto our regularly scheduled program...

Today I wanted to share a layout I created with the new Memories Captured collection. I decided to go out of my comfort zone and see how many patterned papers I could fit on my page without feeling like it's crowded. This is what I came up with...

This collection is a blast to play with. I especially love the chalkboard items! This month the Fancy Pants Design Team also received some fun items from Maya Road to play with. I immediately fell in love with the star stick pins.

What is your scrapbooking style? What makes you feel like you are out of your comfort zone?

Chalkboard Love

One more day until the weekend!!! Woot! I received some happy mail today and can't wait to play with it! We also have a day trip planned to the city this Saturday. The girls are so excited that we will be visiting the Science Museum! Such a fun place to visit!

Today I have a post up over at the Fancy Pants blog. I am showcasing the new chalkboard embellishments. They rock! Here is a little peek.

To see the full layout, check out my blog post here.
